Rita's Burrow Beds was born out of love for a loyal Italian Greyhound named Chabela—who ran 40km forest trails with our founder—and her daughter Rita.
When Chabela passed away leaving eight puppies, our founder adopted little Rita, her exact carbon copy. But we soon realized that without her sisters, Rita was constantly shivering and digging under bedsheets, missing the warm cuddle pile of her litter.
We hand-sewed the first Burrow Bed to give Rita an ancient cave sanctuary: a 4-layer pocket she could lift with her nose to tuck in when chilly, and a plush top lounger she could sprawl across when she got warm. You can read their full story on our Our Story page!

Washing your burrow bed is very easy!
- Slide the two inner pillows out of the 4-layer casing.
- Machine wash the cover in cold or warm water on a gentle cycle.
- Machine wash the inner pillows in cold water on gentle.
- Tumble dry both cover and pillows on low heat.
- Tip: Tossing two wool dryer balls into the dryer helps fluff the poly-fibers to maximum softness!

- Regular (30" × 30"): Great for toy & small dogs up to 18 lbs (Mini Dachshunds, Chihuahuas, Yorkies, Italian Greyhounds, Min Pins, Cats).
- Large (36" × 30"): Great for dogs 18 to 35 lbs (French Bulldogs, Corgis, Standard Dachshunds, Beagles) or two small pups cuddling together.
- X-Large (42" × 30"): Best for bigger burrowers 35+ lbs (Vizslas, Boxers, Pitbulls) or dogs who love lots of space.
Yes! All covers and pillows are completely interchangeable. If you have a Regular bed, any Regular replacement cover will fit your pillows. You can switch to fleece for winter and denim cotton for summer!
